Disney Value Resorts
Resort Transportation: If you are staying at a Disney resort Disney has several modes of transportation. To get from the resort to theme parks or to Downtown Disney you can take any of the Disney Transportations at no cost. There is the Disney Bus, Disney Water Taxi’s or Disney Monorail’s.  Depending on which resort you are staying at determines on which transportation will be provided to you. This is free transportation. To get more information on Transportation go to www.wdwinfo.com/transportation. If you are staying at a Disney Resort bewared that Disney’s transportation will not take you off the Disney property. Therefore if you would like to visit other theme parks not owned by Disney, such as Universal Studio’s or Sea World, or if you just want to explore around the Orlando or Kissimmee area you must rent a rental car. Disney Rental Cars: Yes!!! Disney has their own rental cars!!! Just make sure you book your rental car in advance. A bus will pick you up at your resort and will take you to the Disney Car Care Center where you can pick up your rental car. It is alittle more costly than a regular rental car dealer but not by much. The Car Care Center is located just outside of the Magic Kingdom Parking Lot. Note: to return your car you must go through the parking gates for Magic Kingdom but stay to the far left gate and just let the parking attendant know that you are going to the Car Care Center and you won’t have to pay to return your car. Be sure to get your car returned on time!!! Just know that if you are late returning your rental car you will be charged extra!!! To reserve a rental Car with Disney call 1-407-824-3470. It’s true you can find hotels in the Orlando and Kissimmee area for reasonable rates. Some as low as $30 per night. However keep in mind in the Orlando area you get what you pay for.  If you do decide to stay in a hotel other than Disney I would recommend a hotel along International dr. Most of these hotels will range from $50 per night to $90 per night. On International dr. you are put right in the middle of the action. Some may refer to this area as a tourist trap however if you’re on vacation and looking for fun then what does it matter? Don’t think for one minute that you can not afford to stay with Disney!!! Disney has affordable resorts and vacation packages. You don’t have to be wealthy to stay with Disney.      Disney Valued Resorts: Most of Disney’s Value Resorts are located within the same area and within walking distance.  The exception is the Pop Century Resort. The Value Resort rooms have 2 double beds and can house up to 4 people. Being that a lot of  families consist of two adults and more than just 2 children Disney has added family suites to the All-Star Music resort which can have up to 6 people to a room. To get information on the family suites you must call and speak to a Disney Cast member to get the information and current rates. There is only one form of Disney transportation from the value resorts to the theme parks or to Downtown Disney and that is by a Disney Bus. The Value Resorts have themed swimming pools all within walking distance of each other. Very cool swimming pools!!!! Kids love them.  All-Star Movie Resort:  The All-Star Movie Resort is a Disney movie themed resort. One side of this resort is dedicated to the Disney Pixar film “Toy Story”. This resort will get you into the Disney spirit! Along the buildings is large buckets of toy soldiers. The roof top is lined with the soldiers. Here you will also find a court yard dedicated to Andy’s room. The court yard contains a 3 story tall Buzz Light-year and a 3 story tall Woody doll. Look closely on the bottom of Woody’s foot!  Along the court yard you’ll also find other favorites from “Toy Story”. This makes for a great opportunity for pictures In the All-Star Movie Resort there is also areas dedicated to “Herbie”, “101 Dalmatians”, and “Fantasia”. All Star Music Resort: The All Star Music Resort is another value resort. It is themed to, you guessed it, music! Very similar to the other value resorts. The themed pool here features the Three Caballeros, Donald Duck, Jose’ the Parrot and Panchito the pistol happy rooster. There is another pool shaped like a piano. There is a building for jazz music, one for western music and of course one for rockin-roll.  All Star Sports Resort : The All Star Sports Resort has four different areas as well. It has football, baseball, basketball and surfing. This resort is great for the athletic enthusiast featuring a place to toss around the football, practicing playing hoops, and playing a game of tennis. Even if you didn’t bring your football or basketball with you the gift shops at the resorts sale Disney style footballs and basketballs for a reasonable price. Featured theme pools here is “Mighty Ducks” and “Goofy’s Baseball” pool. Disney Pop Century Resort : Out of all the value resorts this is a favorite.  Features pop culture. The buildings are lined with a large can of “Play Doh”, a 3 story “Big Wheel”, a giant “Rubik’s Cube” and many other things.  Take notice in the lobby area if you hear the song “The Hustle”. You just might see the cast members stop in their duties and begin to do the hustle simultaneously. Want to learn to do the Hustle??? Go to www.youtube.com/watch?v=7TsRdkrxl4g and learn to Hustle! All four value resorts have gift shops, outside cabaña bars and food courts that offers a wide variety of food. If you decide to stay at one of the Value Resorts I would recommend Disney’s Pop Century Resort or the Disney’s All-Star Movie Resort.
